Aged Care

Improving cost outcomes in aged care building design

Maximising value for money is critical in residential and aged care building projects to ensure maximum benefits are realised within budgets. Having provided quantity surveying services in a number of residential and aged care settings, we have extensive experience across cost control and management services in this industry, including cost planning, feasibility estimating and progress claim assessments.

We also provide advisory and contract administration services to assess and provide contingencies for design changes, negotiate variations, and prepare ongoing financial reports to allow real-time management and control of your project.

McCracken Views Extension

Client: Southern Cross Care

Location: Victor Harbor, SA

Dates: 2017

McCracken Views Residential Care contains 60 rooms for 24-hour individualised and respite care for residents. An extension to the activity and administration spaces was undertaken to support healthy aging. This incorporated an additional ground floor gym, additional office space, and an extension of the community room that required matching with the existing façade.

Robb Partners was engaged as the Contract Superintendent. In this role we were responsible for overseeing both the design team and builder who were contracted to facilitate the extension works. Director, Mason Robb, took a hands-on approach, chairing project control meetings, assessing project variations and time extensions to ensure they were in accordance with contract obligations, and liaised directly with the client throughout.
